Why Kava?
Kava or kava kava (Piper methysticum) is also called ʻawa in Hawaiʻi, ʻava in Samoa, yaqona in Fiji, and malok or malogu in parts of Vanuatu. Kava is a crop of the Pacific Islands and the root of the plant has been used for thousands of years to produce a drink with sedative, anesthetic, and euphoriant properties. Its active ingredients are called kavalactones. Systematic scientific reviews have shown, amongst others, its positive effect treating short-term anxiety.
